Leader of Group 3 of the SSL Gold Cup 2022 QS Round 2, SSL Team Slovenia had another good day in Grandson, Lake Neuchatel (Switzerland). The Slovenian «Krpani1860» took control in Leg 3 and crossed the finish line 18 seconds in front of SSL Team Lithuania «Ambers». Lagging behind was SSL Team Ecuador «La Tri,» who were punished for a bad strategy in the upwind Leg 2 to finish 3rd and last (+1’44»).
Vasilij Zbogar, SSL Team Slovenia Captain after Race 3 victory: «When you are in the lead, the goal is to stay in control and keep the lead. On the other hand, you also want to sail at your best, so it is a constant battle. When the margin is big you switch to sailing, when it gets smaller you go back to covering. This third Race was tricky as we were switching from one mode to the other. I was calling tough maneuvers and the team did an excellent job.»
